My Dear Capt. Beery.
Your note became misplaced
and only yesterday came to
my attention.
I wish to thank you
for you [your] kindness, I know
you are busy people. we
folks owe an unpayable
debt of gratitude to our
splendid nurses and doctors.
And may God grant us a more
peaceful world, where such sacrifice
may never be needed again.
